About the event:
Art Light District #2
Art Light District #1 was a resounding success and demonstrated the importance of connecting artists with the community. We are delighted to announce that the next edition will take place in September 2025 and will once again offer a diverse program with multiple events.
We pride ourselves on continuously evolving and exploring new creative avenues. Feedback from artists and visitors has inspired us to refine and expand our concept. We are particularly excited to welcome both familiar faces and emerging talents to our platform. The diversity of artists presenting their work is a central element of our vision and contributes to the unique atmosphere of the Art Light District.
An important aspect of our event is the fair concept for all parties involved and the welcoming atmosphere we want to maintain. We believe that art should be accessible to everyone and that collaborations with artists must be based on respect and fairness. Our goal is to create a platform that brings together both artists and visitors and fosters a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
The upcoming second edition promises another exciting mix of exhibition and live performances. We invite all art lovers and curious minds to become part of this special experience and discover the creativity and passion of the participating artists. We look forward to an inspiring event and to celebrating the world of art with you!

More information can be found here:
How easy is it to get there by public transport?
The Oberhafen train depot is easily accessible by public transport:
Subway:
HafenCity University (U4) – approx. 11-minute walk
Steinstraße (U1) – approx. 11-minute walk
Bus:
Oberhafenbrücke (Line 602) – directly at the train shed
(Please note: irregular tempo)
Shanghaiallee (Line 111) – approx. 5-minute walk
Are there parking facilities?
Parking at the Oberhafen site is limited, and we have to share it with visitors to Hobenköök and the Oberhafen canteen. We therefore ask you to use the nearby parking lots on Bankstraße if possible.
Is the exhibition accessible to people with disabilities?
Yes, the train shed is accessible by wheelchair via a ramp. Most of the exhibition is on the ground floor and therefore barrier-free. However, some exhibition areas are lower down and can only be reached via small flights of stairs.
Important information: The courtyard/parking area in front of the hall is paved with rough cobblestones. The surface can be difficult to navigate for wheelchair users and people with walking aids. We therefore recommend stopping directly in front of the hall to drop off your vehicle and then parking your car in a nearby parking area.
Is there a restaurant on site?
Yes, we have a bar with drinks and small snacks (e.g., pretzels and cakes). For larger meals, we recommend our neighbors: Hobenköök and Oberhafenkantine – both just a few steps away.
Is it allowed to take photos or videos?
Yes, absolutely! We would also be delighted if you could send us the photos to

The train shed:
"The train depot is located in the center of Hamburg's colorful Oberhafen cultural and creative quarter."
As an old, disused area, it lay dormant for many years before being reimagined and revived with its reopening in 2022 as a socio-cultural and innovative meeting place."
Gleishalle.de 2024
With its unique charm, characterized by its industrial atmosphere, the railway hall offers the perfect location for the first ART LIGHT DISTRICT event! Furthermore, the adjacent cultural quarter provides the ideal setting for putting on an amazing art event.
